Cordelia Onu is a journalist who has at various times worked as a defense reporter, woman editor, foreign/diplomatic editor, Port Harcourt bureau chief, deputy editor of the Daily Champion, and member of the Editorial Board.

She is a permanent fellow of the World Press Institute (Macalester College) and a Visiting Media Fellow of the DeWitt Wallace Center for Communication and Journalism (Duke University). Onu is a trainer in media usage and mass mobilization techniques, a member of the Governing Board of the Women’s Leadership Group, and a volunteer with the Other Half Empowerment Initiative.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, a Master’s in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the University of Lagos, and another Master’s in Mass Communication from Ebonyi State University. She works as an independent book editor.
